Mahahual, Q.R. — Four men accused of drug dealing were arrested by Mahahual authorities Tuesday. One of them is a tourist service provider. Authorities confirmed that it was an arrest made in flagrante delicto after detecting a drug exchange.
The arrests of the four men took place shortly after 3:00 p.m. near the Mahahual boardwalk where they were seen exchanging bags of narcotics.
A tactical deployment team from the Centurion Group which is made up of personnel from the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC), navy and army, made the arrests.
Some media reported that the arrests were related to a kidnapping, however, the men were arrested during a police operation. They were rushed upon, subdued and put into official vehicles after trying to flee from police.

One of the men who provides services to Mahahual tourists was arrested wearing his official company lanyard identification.
Authorities said after seeing the men handling bags of narcotics, they were found in possession of crystal meth, cocaine, marijuana and LSD.
