Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A tour salesman who was shot in central Playa del Carmen has died.
Tourist police were the first to arrive at the scene of the reported shooting at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Constituyentes. A man, Arnulfo R., was shot in the chest while sitting at his sales booth.
The shooting happened around 11:00 p.m. when a lone male shot the man before escaping on foot. Witnesses to the shooting made the Emergency 911 call. Paramedics arrived to transport the man to the General Hospital. Arnulfo R. died in hospital two hours later.
Police reportedly found a .38 caliber cap near the crime scene.
