Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Three vehicles involved in a crash along the Playa del Carmen-Puerto Morelos highway has left three injured.
The accident happened in front of the Hotel Vidanta when a couple who were entering the highway after leaving the hotel were hit sideways by an oncoming car. The hit vehicle was pushed 12 meters from the impact.
That two-car collision left an empty tourist van to swerve out of the way, avoiding impact but ending up in the bush along the highway. The driver of the tour van came to a stop after crashing into two trees.
The couple in the hit car were reported injured, while the driver of the tourist van suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Firefighters, paramedics and municipal police arrived to sort things out.
