Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Three young people were arrested by Playa del Carmen police Saturday after neighbors reported hearing gun fire.
According to witnesses, the three young men were chasing another man who attempted to take shelter in a convenience store, but before reaching the store, he was shot. The trio, alleged responsible for the shooting, fled the scene in a red car along Constituyentes Avenue with Flor de Nochebuena Street.
Police launched a search where they tracked down the vehicle and took its occupants into custody. They also found the body of the deceased male in the street of the Mission de las Flores division. The arrest took place in the fractionation of Natura.
The red car and police unit were damaged during the takedown.
The identity of the deceased has not been released. The three arrested were found carrying a total of five weapons.
