Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A woman on a family vacation from Tabasco died in a weekend highway accident in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Early information indicates that the driver of the second vehicle involved braked suddenly to enter a sideroad.
The accident happened Sunday morning between a dump truck and pickup on the Felipe Carrillo Puerto – Chumpon federal highway. A family of four from Tabasco was traveling in the red pickup when they were passed by the dump truck.
After passing the pickup, the driver of the dump truck made a sudden brake to enter a dirt sideroad off the highway. The pickup slammed into the back of the dump truck.
One woman from the truck died at the scene. The other three from inside, two of which were minors, remain hospitalized.
