Cozumel, Q.R. — The body of a young woman was found in a Cozumel nightclub Sunday that authorities presume was a suicide.
The body of 22-year-old Isla V.T.C was discovered in a room of the nightclub during the early morning hours of Sunday. The police report indicated that at around 5:19 a.m., security personnel found the body of the deceased. Authorities arrived to investigate and transfer the body for autopsy.
Her death has been reported to relatives who said she was suffering from chronic schizophrenia. She was not an employee of the nightclub.
A social media statement by the Caribbean Queen nightclub said “Today we are saddened and we tell you friends and family that Miss Isla Venice del Toro Chi, who was part of the family of the owners of the Caribbean Queen, has died of natural causes. She was not a dancer. The family pleads for consideration and respect for this unfortunate event.”
