Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — An establishment police believe was used for kidnapping purposes has been seized. The state seized the hotel Wednesday after a search operation.
The State Attorney General reported that, in collaboration with National Guard and Municipal Police, they executed a search warrant at an establishment for acts possibly constituting the crime of disappearance committed by private individuals.
Following a complaint filed with the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Crimes of Forced Disappearance of Persons and Disappearance Committed by Individuals, the Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation.
Upon entering the establishment located in the town of Chunhuhub in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, agents secured a digital video recorder and micro SD cards.
After completing the procedure, officers placed the corresponding security seals. The property was placed under the custody of the Attorney General while the evidence seized was made available to the corresponding authority.
Police did not provide information regarding kidnapping victims or any link to criminal gangs.
