Cancun, Q.R. — Six major projects are planned for the city of Cancun for the second half of the year, says its mayor.
Municipal President Mara Lezama reports that for the second half of 2019, the city will see a total of six major public work projects that will include the construction of sidewalks in various areas of the city as well as the addition of 50 absorption wells.
“We have to develop comprehensive projects for citizens, address the real needs and provide the best solutions,” she said.
Lezama says another of the projects will include a Funeral Park, which will be constructed in SM 106 as well as the improvement the pedestrian zone of Kabah Park, a space and natural protected area that is popular with families.
In mid-July, road resurfacing will begin in Regions 96 and 227, as well as drainage and synthetic grass will be added to the field in Region 200. Other proposed projects on the list are waiting approval by the Planning Committee for the Development of the Municipality.
“Just this week, we gave the go-ahead to the resurfacing of Avenues Del Sol in Supermanzana 44 and Revolution in Supermanzana 76, which will strengthen the urban infrastructure of Benito Juárez, improving the circulation of thousands of citizens toward their daily activities,” she explained.
The mayor of Cancun also noted that nine community dining facilities have been opened around the city in various regions for an investment of 10 million peso.
