Second taxi driver dies in Playa del Carmen shooting

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A second taxi driver has died in the Friday shooting that left one other injured and another deceased.

Euclides Rabelo Cruz, 28 the driver of the taxi, has reportedly died in the General Hospital of Playa del Carmen Saturday at 3:00 p.m. due to the bullet wounds received in the Friday shooting.

On May 24, a taxi unit with two taxi drivers as passengers was shot at while it sat at a red light at the intersection of the Chemuyil and Colosio avenue. All three inside the unit were hit. One man, León R., died on scene.

The Attorney General’s Office gave a brief statement that investigations have been initiated. No arrests have been made.
