Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A search continues for a missing elderly farmer in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. On Saturday, 74-year-old Isabel “C” went to check on corn fields but never returned.
His family has since reported him missing, which prompted an area search but without results.
Personnel from the State Civil Protection joined in what is still a search and rescue mission for the elderly man. Family believe he may have become disoriented and / or lost in nearby Mayan jungle on the walk to or from the corn field.
He was last seen October 14 in the Mayan community of Filomeno Mata in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. His family filed the missing persons report October 16.
State and Municipal Civil Protection along with National Guard and the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), are participating in the search.
