Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — An investigation by the state has led to an Isla Mujeres home where, after a search, police found drugs and weapons.
The investigation by the State Attorney General’s Office came after the murder of one person and injury of another by gunfire on the afternoon of December 31.
A search warrant was obtained for an address in Colonia Centro where police seized drugs, weapons and cartridges. Inside the home, which was located on Miguel Hidalgo Avenue, investigators seized a shotgun along with several handguns, 39 bags of marijuana and two bags of cocaine.
They report that the search was carried out by means of judicial instruction derived from the events that occurred two days before, that left one dead and one injured.
The Public Ministry ordered the insurance of the property and will initiate the appropriate procedures.
