Akumal, Q.R. — Two men accused of being drug traffickers in the town of Akumal have been arrested. On Wednesday, police reported on the arrests of Francisco “N” and Marco Antonio “N”.
Both men were taken into custody from the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood of Akumal, Tulum municipality, as alleged suspects in drug trafficking. During a search, police found them in possession of over 100 street ready bags of marijuana and crystal meth.
During patrols, members of the Centurion Group of the Secretariat of Citizen Security, in coordination with the Secretariats of the Navy and National Defense, observed two men exchanging small bags containing a dry, green herb resembling marijuana.

“The incident occurred on Punta Cancún Street at the intersection with Gonzalo Guerrero Avenue in Akumal, Tulum municipality.
“The men attempted to flee, but were apprehended thanks to the prompt intervention. They were informed of the violation and subjected to a preventive search,” police said.
“Ninety-five small, clear, Ziploc-type plastic bags containing a dry, green herb similar to marijuana were seized. Fifty small, clear, Ziploc-type plastic bags containing transparent, crystal-like solid fragments, a cell phone and two small fanny packs,” were also seized at the time.
