Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen taxi driver was found shot to death in the back seat of his unit near the seaside town of Akumal, in the municipality of Solidaridad.
The Lázaro Cárdenas del Río union vehicle was found near the San Josecito ranch along the Federal 301 Highway. The victim, who has only been identified as a male in his early 30s, was discovered dead in the back seat.
Paramedics arrived at the scene only to confirm the man was deceased. He was pronounced on scene. Police, who were sent by the State Attorney General’s Office, arrived to to initiate an investigation.
