Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The municipality of Solidaridad says they will be carrying out regular inspections and routine patrols in the irregular areas of the city to reinforce security.
In a press release, the city reports that as part of the reinforcement of permanent presence and surveillance operations throughout the municipality, the Dirección General de Seguridad Pública y Tránsito de Solidaridad in coordination with the Naval and Military Police will patrol irregular colonies to provide greater security for its inhabitants.
The city notes that the newly established routine will be in addition to the installation of security filters at entrances with the purpose of deterring and preventing crimes such as the sale of drugs or the carrying of weapons.
Diddier Vázquez Méndez, in charge of the Policía Municipal Preventiva, indicated that through this operation in conjunction with the Canine Unit, surveillance was reinforced in the irregular areas known as the Sauces, las Torres, In House, the delegación de Puerto Aventuras and its surroundings, where security checkpoints and crime prevention are implemented randomly under current legal guidelines.
This joint action arises as a result of the work tables that have been held since the beginning of the current administration among commands of the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR), Federal, State and Municipal Police, so that on a daily basis, a large group made up of municipal and federal authorities carry out safety tours on foot and on board units, an action that has been well regarded by the inhabitants to deter crime and create a climate of peace and tranquility.
Diddier Vázquez Méndez added that along with these operations, vigilance is maintained throughout the municipality with patrol prevention and social proximity in neighborhoods to preserve the dialogue with citizens in order to continue reinforcing security schemes.
