Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen police have taken two young men into custody after they were found carrying bags of cocaine along with a large sum of cash.
Members of the Policía Municipal Preventiva detained two subjects who were found carrying 11 bags of what appeared to be cocaine along with a bag of marijuana, 1,100 peso and two cell phones.
In a statement, la Dirección General de Seguridad Pública y Tránsito de Solidaridad reported that municipal police, when conducting a routine patrols in Colonia Centro, noted the suspicious actions of the now detained, who upon seeing the agents, displayed a suspicious attitude which resulted in a routine review of their person.
As a result of their review, agents found the drugs, cash and cell phones. Both, who remain unidentified, were taken to the station where they are being held for transfer to the State Attorney General’s Office.
