Over 440 officers in Othón P. Blanco undergo drug testing

Chetumal, Q.R. — Police officers in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco were summoned for a mandatory drug test. On Tuesday, the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) of Quintana Roo said 440 officers from the municipality have been tested.

“We randomly carried out toxicological tests on over 440 elements of Othón P. Blanco,” the state agency reported.

“Early in the day, chemical and medical personnel from the Control and Trust Center (C3) went to the corporation’s facilities to carry out anti-doping tests on operational elements, the Procedural Police, the State Transit Directorate and the Special Surveillance Services Unit,” the SSC added.

Last week, police officers of Cozumel were tested for drug use. Luis Alberto Taylor Gonzáles, the Director of Public Security of Cozumel, said that the officers were tested before being allowed to renew their weapons license, which is mandatory for their job.
