Cancun, Q.R. — A property search in a Cancun home led police to find a score of weapons and live rounds during an operation Thursday night. The search took place inside a house in SM 225 from where authorities seized long weapons, hand guns and ammo.

Five AR-15 type long guns, several semi-automatic pistols and more than a thousand live rounds were seized during the Thursday night search.
The police operation happened at a home on 100th Street and 105-A Avenue by Investigative Police who executed a search warrant with support from federal and state forces.
During the search, officers found the illegal weapons and ammo, but did not specify the exact number of handguns or live rounds, however, authorities did say preliminarily, they estimated the count to exceed one thousand rounds
Multiple small bags containing a dried herb resembling marijuana and a crystalline substance were also found at the property, authorities reported.

The property was secured by authorities and the evidence turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to continue the investigation. Police did not announce any arrests during the operation.
