New Riviera Maya water park set to compete with Xcaret

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Grupo Vidanta has announced the construction of a water park that they say, will compete directly with the attractions of Xcaret.

In a statement, the company says that in mid-June, they will open their Jungala Luxury Waterpark in Riviera Maya. While the park is aimed toward adults, there is a children’s area.

Grupo Vindanta says that Jungala Luxury Waterpark will offer sophisticated attractions for the adventurous and feature family games such as Aqua Play Rain Fortress and an interactive platform they say is the “largest in the world.”

Once open, the park will also offer visits a slow river that is “more than a kilometer long, the only one of its kind in Latin America, and one of the few wave pools in the world with natural sand.”

Another attraction will include jungle tours between rocky walls, tall trees and water sprouting from natural pergolas and lost ruins where visitors can enjoy watching native birds and other animals.

On the side of luxury, the water park will offer VIP cabins with personal concierge throughout the park as well as gourmet dishes of various cuisine and spa treatments, among other amenities.

The company adds that Jungala Luxury Waterpark is located in Vidanta Riviera Maya and will compete with Grupo Xcaret, offering next-generation attractions for both its guests and travelers in search of adventure.

In March, Grupo Vidanta announced its foray into the shipping industry with Vidanta Cruises, the first Mexican line of luxury cruise ships.
