Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Governor Mara Lezama announced the construction of a new security base in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The new 26 million pesos base is part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen peace and security in the state.
From the heart of Carrillo Puerto, Governor Lezama reported that the project is part of a program for the construction and rehabilitation of police stations that includes five facilities.
Those facilities are located in the municipalities of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Puerto Morelos, Othón P. Blanco, Bacalar and Tulum, with a total investment of approximately 78 million pesos.
Accompanied by Felipe Carrillo Puerto Mayor Mary Hernández, Governor Lezama highlighted that the new base is designed to guarantee dignified and professional conditions for security personnel,
The new facility will have a modern administrative building that will include an intelligent monitoring point, administrative area, lounge, reception and waiting room, communications site, weapons depot and restrooms.
Likewise, the project includes operational staff space such as a dormitory for women with capacity for 44 elements and another for men for 66 elements, both fully equipped, in addition to a living area with a visiting room, rest room, dining rooms, kitchen and laundry.
The Governor emphasized that this base will allow for greater deployment and control of security operations in the rural area of the municipality in order to protect agricultural activities and strengthen regional trade.
“In Quintana Roo, we build peace through planning, investment and a human touch. This is how we care for our people and this is how Felipe Carrillo Puerto moves forward: with hope, commitment and our hearts set on its people,” she said.
