Chetumal, Q.R. — The body of a man found in Chetumal Thursday is that of a recently kidnapped resident. Early Thursday, police were alerted to the finding of a dead body near a city overpass.
Emergency 911 received the call after midnight Thursday by a neighbor out walking. Police verified the finding at the Fraternidad Torchista neighborhood overpass. The body of the adult male was discovered laying in roadside vegetation.
Since the discovery, authorities have identified the deceased as the Chetumal man kidnapped from a residential sidewalk the day before. On August 9, a local resident identified as Fransicco “N” was forced into a vehicle from the Arboledas 2 neighborhood.
The body found Thursday showed signs of violence. The man had been shot to death.
