Mexico City, Mexico — On Thursday night, more than 4.9 million Cuban anti-covid-19 vaccines arrived at the Mexico City International Airport. The shipment of vaccines is part of the country’s booster shot program to help curb rising positive covid-19 figures.
The Cuban Abdala vaccines will be distributed to adults across the country. It is the second shipment in a month to arrive. On November 25, a shipment of just over 4 million vaccines arrived in Mexico City. To date, Mexico has received nearly nine million Abdala vaccines which were approved by the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) last year.
