Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Inspectors with the Instituto de Movilidad of Isla Mujeres continue their verification of irregular vehicles on Isla Mujeres roadways.
In an operation Wednesday, inspectors extended their reviews to include taxis, golf carts and motorcycle rentals operating on roadways without concessions.
Bibian Castillo Dzul, who headed the Wednesday operation, explained a recent meeting was held to reach an agreement on unique identification cards to register hired golf carts. Castillo Dzul also noted that during their operation inspection, a visibility altered insurance policy was found on at least one taxi.
They also found a golf cart circulating on roads without permission from the Instituto de Movilidad of Isla Mujeres. Both the taxi and golf cart were seized. The driver of the taxi was held for a hearing the the General Prosecutor.
