Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Material damage and one injury was the result of a minor driving through the front room of his neighbor’s home over the weekend.
The minor, who was attempting to drive his father’s truck, was accompanied by his mother when the accident happened. It was around noon when the young driver miscalculated while going backward, leaving his own driveway and continuing across the street into the front room of a Villas del Sol neighbor.
The red SUV finally stopped, but not until it smashed through the concrete wall of the home, destroying most everything inside the room.
The occupants of the home were not injured, however, the mother of the boy was left with a dislocated jaw from the accident. Police arrived and arrested the father, the owner of the vehicle to ensure payment of damages, while an ambulance took the mother to hospital.
