Cozumel, Q.R. — National Defense personnel assured a one-kilo package of cocaine that was found washed up among seaweed.
La Secretaria de la Defensa Nacional reports the discovery of the package during a routine surveillance tour of the island. The package of cocaine was found in the Punta Arrecifes-Castillo Real area in the municipality of Cozumel.
The package was secured, sealed in a black bag when found. It was made available to la Fiscalía General de la República (FGR).
La Secretaria de la Defensa Nacional says their surveillance tours are part of their Peace and Security strategy.
