Mexico’s presidential plane officially up for auction

Mexico City, Mexico — As promised during his presidential campaign, Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has put the presidential plane up for auction.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner named José María Morelos y Pavón, was officially made available Wednesday afternoon for those interested in bidding. The plane was acquired by former President Felipe Calderón which the new administration has placed on sale.

Public offers by all nationalities are being taken through the United Nations Office for Project Services. Offers are welcome from public, private and corporate bids.

The rules of the United Nations Office for Project Services details that bidders may be a private, public or a governmental legal entity or any association with the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract with UNOPS and can be of any nationality.

Interested parties have until April 15. The plane will be awarded to the highest bidder.
