Mexican navy rescues two after sailboat runs out of fuel

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Two people who called for help after their sailboat ran out of fuel, were towed to land by the Mexican Navy.

The Secretary of the Navy of Mexico says that after receiving a call for help by two aboard the sailboat Endurance, personnel were sent to sea where they found the boat approximately six nautical miles north of the shores of Isla Mujeres.

When they arrived, they found a man of Argentine nationality and a woman of Venezuelan nationality on board. The pair made the emergency call to the port’s harbor master requesting the assistance.

Their sailboat was towed to Laguna de Makax-Marina Makax for refueling with the navy saying everyone was in good health.
