Mahahual, Q.R. — A bicycle path worth 3.3 million is next on the list of construction efforts for the seaside town of Mahahual. “Thanks to the joint effort with City Hall, we continue to announce good news for Othón P. Blanco,” reported Mayor Yensunni Martínez Hernández.
She made the announcement Monday saying that the new bicycle path is in response to citizem requests and will be added to the already-announced paving project from last week.
Martínez Hernández reported that during 2023, around 8 million pesos is being invested in the town of Mahahual. She said the projects are being done with resources from the Social Infrastructure Contributions Fund (FAIS) of Mahahual.
She explained that the new bike path will run along the Cafetal-Mahahual highway from Jaiba Street to Guachinango Street. The project will cost around 3.3 million pesos and provide 2,600 residents with 1,125 linear meters of path.
The project will be completed by contractor Jonh Hernández Domínguez, and includes preliminary works, pavement, signage and delimiting stops.
He explained that the construction of the bike path responds to the needs of the citizens, with whom they worked hand in hand to carry out the work that will benefit more than 2,600 inhabitants, plus the hundreds of visitors that arrive every day.
She said this latest project is in addition to the 4.6 million being invested in road infrastructure for Mahahual.
“We have strongly promoted Mahahual as a tourist center that has gained great importance worldwide. For this reason, we have the task of dignifying the town so that citizens live well and tourists enjoy spaces with decent services,” she said during her Monday announcement.
