Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The Municipal Police of Solidaridad has reported the arrest of a subject they found carrying more than 150 bags of drugs along with guns and cash.
The arrest took place during a routine patrol on Constituyentes Avenue in the Ejido neighborhood at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday when police say they saw a man with a black backpack acting suspicious. When seeing police, the man immediately ran.
The agents caught up with the suspect and, after a routine check, found inside the backpack a chrome-plated pistol and two loaded magazines. They also found 54 bags of crack.
In addition, another 104 sachets of various other drugs including marijuana, were found along with 500 peso in cash. In total, police seized 158 bags of drugs and two guns.
The man is reported to be 33-year-old Ricardo Alexander N from Yucatan. He was placed at the disposal of the Narcotics Division of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.
