Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A fugitive on the run early eights years for the murder of his former girlfriend has been captured in Isla Mujeres. Juan “P” was wanted for the 2018 murder of his ex-partner, Anahi “X” in Campeche.
According to authorities, Anahi “X” was was killed by Juan “P” June 18, 2018 at a home in the Fidel Velázquez neighborhood in the city of Campeche. He fled the city and had been on the run since.
Juan “P” was taken into custody by Quintana Roo police on April 25 on an outstanding arrest warrant from the neighboring state of Campeche.

He was arrested Saturday during an extensive search for his location by police in Isla Mujeres where he was believed residing. Police did not provide the exact location of his arrest, nor did they say how long he is believed to have been living there.
Juan “P” was returned to Campeche Sunday and officially charged April 27 with the 2018 murder of Anahi “X”. He was entered into the San Francisco Kobén Penitentiary where he will remain until his trial.
According to the investigation, Juan “N” stabbed and strangled then 27 year old Anahí “X” who had separated from him for repeated assaults.
The Quintana Roo State Attorney (FGE) confirmed the Saturday arrest of Juan “P” and/or J.P.S.B., in Isla Mujeres, who had an outstanding arrest warrant for the femicide of Anahí “X”.
