Mahahual, Q.R. — A Mahahual taxi driver was arrested by the Mexican Army Thursday after they found 20 kilos of pot in his trunk. The unidentified taxi driver was taken into custody in the municipality of Bacalar after the discovery.
Security was reinforced along the highway after a Mahahual taxi driver was found dead inside the trunk of his own unit the day before. That Mahahual taxi driver was found dead also in the municipality of Bacalar.
It was due to this increased Costa Maya highway security that elements of the Mexican Army found the Mahahual driver transporting the marijuana. An inspection of his vehicle revealed the two large wrapped 10-kilo blocks of marijuana stashed in his trunk.
