I read the latest article of a taxi driver overcharging a customer. This occurs all the time in Tulum. Not only are they absolutely ripping people off, but they are aggressive towards people and many dive that way as well.
This has got to stop. All of the focus on beach access has improved that aspect-which never should have been an issue.
When is the local and state government gong to step in and stop this practice. They are complicate in their lack of response. They need to dissolve the taxi union ASAP and for ma better system where there is total transparency.
With this and the ongoing police extortions, the beach access is long behind. When will they take their hands out of their pockets as well as the people’s and do the right thing?
