Letters to the Editor: No peace in Playa del Carmen

Hello

It’s different years that my wife and I come to Playa to spend three months but these last two years have been very hard. We have had no peace: loud music comes from almost every shop and restaurant. Which kind of tourists does Playa want to host?

Here there are people who work, study or simply want to enjoy their holidays, but it’s not possible with all this noise. Since early morning to late night, there is loud music in every corner which hosts a Mexican shop. Often they put loudspeakers on the street. On top of that when restaurants and shops close, the employees rise the volume of music while cleaning!

Here there is not a noise limit or a time limit like in many other countries. This won’t bring anything good to this place as residents and tourists start becoming very tired. There is no peace, no respect, which recalls a low level tourism. The one which won’t bring you a lot money, the one which won’t buy all the beautiful apartments you are building.

Thank you
Sincerely

Max Cocco
