Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Early reports say one driver was killed and several others left with injuries in a highway accident. On Monday night, police were called to the scene of a two vehicle accident between a pickup truck and a bus.

The accident happened Monday on a section of the federal 295 highway near the town of San José Segundo between an armored truck and a hotel employee bus.
While several people from the staff bus sustained injuries, the driver of the armored truck was killed.
According to preliminary information from the scene, the armored truck was traveling south toward Felipe Carrillo Puerto when it colidded with the bus traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the bus was allegedly in the middle of a highway U-turn when the two vehicles collided.
Red Cross paramedics arrived to provide medical attention to the injured before transferring them to the hospital in Felipe Carrillo Puerto.

Municipal Police officers stationed in the town of Santa Rosa also arrived ahead of National Guard Highways, who cordoned off the area while the body of the deceased driver was removed.
