Cozumel, Q.R. — Two men have each been sentenced to 31 years for the killing of an island resident. According to police, their sentencing dates back to the 2022 killing of a man who was shot 10 times.
Ángel Ezequiel “N”, alias “Sapito”, and Eduardo Alejandro “N”, alias “Sonricks”, have been sentenced by a judge to 31 years and three months. Each has also been fined 180,412.50 pesos and must pay 874,722.50 pesos for reparation of damages, police said.
“The events for which they were sentenced occurred on September 27, 2022, at around 2:10 p.m. when the two subjects were traveling on a motorcycle to the intersection of 90th and 11th Avenues in the Maravilla neighborhood of this municipality.
“Upon arriving at the aforementioned location, Ángel Ezequiel “N” got out of the vehicle and approached the male victim, who was inside a car.

“He shot him 10 times with a firearm, resulting in his death. He then fled the scene on the motorcycle where Eduardo Alejandro “N” was waiting for him. The homicide is related to drug dealing,” the police statement read.
