Interjet launches new Cancun, Lima, Guayaquil and Medellín routes

Cancun, Q.R. — Interjet has announced the launching of new international routes from Cancun to Lima, Peru, and Guayaquil, Ecuador. The new routes will begin with flight operations to Medellín, Colombia to-and-from Mexico City and Cancun.

They say that route offers schedules for passengers to connect from Medellín to the cities of Monterrey, Guadalajara and Tijuana in Mexico, New York, Chicago and Dallas in the United States and Toronto and Montreal in Canada.

President of la Asociación de Hoteles de Cancún, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres, Roberto Cintrón Gómez, announced the inauguration of the new daily flight to Cancun from Medellín, Colombia.

In a press conference, the hotel leader specified that they work hand-in-hand with Interjet for the promotion of new routes.

The opening of the Mexico-Medellín and Cancún-Medellín routes are in response to travelers. During 2018, Interjet served 287,398 passengers on the routes connecting Bogotá to Mexico City and Cancun, 13 percent higher than the previous year.

In the first quarter of 2019, the airline served 104,425 passengers on both routes, which represented an increase of 18 percent with respect to the same period last year.

The airline has also announced the start of another international route, Lima, Peru with Cancun beginning June 17.
