Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Authorities are continuing to investigate a fire that left a piece of industrial machinery in ruins. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames Thursday by the time firemen arrived.
It was found burning on the side of the federal highway in Felipe Carrillo Puerto by motorists. It was not until the fire was out that firemen located a car partially embedded underneath the machine.
There are reports that the body of the driver of the car was found charred inside.
According to preliminary reports, the compact car found underneath is believed to have somehow collided with the industrial vehicle, ending up under it.
That collision is being looked into as the cause of the fire that left both vehicles burned.
Rather than being investigated as a vehicle fire, local authorities are now looking into a possible car accident. The scene was found abandoned when firemen arrived.
