Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Traffic was congested for more than an hour along a section of Felipe Carrillo Puerto highway due to a semi rollover. The driver of the heavy unit overturned on the road near the town of Chunhuhub Tuesday.
Municipal police from Chunhuhub along with paramedics and National Guard Highways were at the scene. Medical personnel provided first aid to the driver who was not seriously injured.
According to information obtained, the driver of the semi lost control after passing another vehicle. The semi was traveling south along the single-lane highway when he lost control during the pass and overturned his unit.
The semi landed on its side, closing one of the two highway lanes, which created backed up traffic. National Guard dealt with highway motorists while police arranged for a heavy duty tow truck.
