Akumal, Q.R. — Agents of the State and Municipal Police evicted a group of approximately 30 people who were attempting to claim the land for settlement.
The owner of the land called authorities to report the group of potential squatters, who he said, were invading his acre of private land on the outskirts of Akumal. Several police units, headed by Commander Nesguer Vicencio, arrived Sunday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. and spoke with the group, who agreed to leave, however, guards were left in place in the event they tried to return.
