Cancun, Q.R. — A group of alleged drug dealers were arrested by Cancun police after being watched on city cameras harassing pedestrians. The arrests of Julio “N”, Erick “N”, Vicente “N” and Yair “N” took place in the Cancun Hotel zone after authorities witnessed them “verbally attacking” people to buy drugs outside Playa Tortugas.
In a Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) statement, all four were arrested for drug dealing.
“With intelligence work of the C5 Security Complex, police elements were alerted that at Playa Tortugas, a group of men were physically and verbally attacking passers-by to get them to buy narcotics,” they reported.
Police arrived to confirm the report, “however they ran to the parking lot and boarded a Nissan brand white Platina type vehicle with UVD-54-21 license plates from the State of Quintana Roo to flee.”
Police were able to catch up and intercept them at Kilometer 3.5 of Boulevard Kukulcán in the Cancun Hotel Zone.
During the inspection procedure, police seized hundreds of street doses of narcotics that included marijuana, two versions of crystal meth and powdered cocaine along with drug paraphernalia and cell phones.
