Governor hints that Quintana Roo is extremely close to achieving a yellow epidemiological light

Cancun, Riviera Maya, Q.R. — With the announcement of another week set to be an orange epidemiological light, Governor Carlos Joaquín also announced that the state is very close to achieving a yellow light. During a live broadcast, the state governor said that with continued discipline, it is possible for the state to achieve a yellow epidemiological traffic light in the near future.

“We are about to reach yellow. We are extremely close to that color, but we need to continue with the discipline that we have shown,” he said adding that people should strengthen hygiene schemes to move forward so we can get out of the health contingency.

For the time being however, the state governor announced another week at the orange epidemiological level for the week of August 24 to 30. In recent days, the mayors of Cancun and Isla Mujeres have announced restrictions will be put into place for beachgoers once beaches reopen, which will be during a yellow epidemiological light.
