Akumal, Q.R. — Four people inside a small car that smashed into the base of a metal pole were treated for minor injuries. The accident happened under the Akumal overpass when the driver allegedly dozed while behind the wheel.
The dozing driver with three passengers swerved his car, crashing it head on into the metal utility pole. Personnel from Civil Protection attended to the accident victims, which included two men, one woman and one minor.
National Guard highways were also sent to the scene to deal with the crushed car and curious motorists until a tow truck arrived to remove it from city property. The four inside the car were not seriously injured.
