Cancun, Q.R. — Four hooded and armed individuals stormed a Banorte bank in Cancun Saturday, getting away with bags of cash.
The thieves timed their attack in coordination with the state’s payday when they entered the bank in Region 92 at the Banorte branch located on José López Portillo Avenue.
According to preliminary reports, there were four hooded and armed people who entered the bank, threatening bank staff and clients. After being given money, witnesses say the four fled in a taxi, heading toward Avenue Kabah.
Municipal and ministerial police are investigating. There were no details on the amount of cash stolen.
