Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Municipal police in Puerto Morelos have taken four people into custody after they were found in possession of a firearm.
In a statement from the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública y Tránsito de Puerto Morelos, municipal agents were sent to Chechén Street after receiving a report of alcohol sales on election day. When they arrived, they found the illegal sale of alcohol as well as an illegal firearm.
Arrested are Clemente Jovani P.D. from Cancun, Carlos Enrique F.P. from Playa del Carmen, My Leydi G.P. and Juan Carlos G.T. of Tabasco. The three men and one woman were held for the state prosecutor while police investigated the AR-15 assault rifle to determine if it had been used in criminal activity.
