Four arrested at Cancun airport with fake identification

Cancun, Q.R. –Four people who tried to board a flight at the Cancun International Airport were arrested by police when they presented false identification.

The two men and two women of Salvadoran nationality, presented voter cards as identification to board a flight bound for Tijuana. The airport’s Federal Police immediately noticed flaws in the cards, noting that they were fake documents.

Two of the fake identification cards presented were from the current Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE), while the other two were from the former Instituto Federal Electoral (IFE).

All four were arrested and made available for the General Prosecutor of the Republic.
