Cozumel, Q.R. — The Foundation of Parks and Museums of Cozumel (FPMC) will temporarily suspend operations as of March 23 until further notice.
La Fundación de Parques y Museos de Cozumel (FPMC) reports that due to the decrease in visitors caused by the complex situation that is being experienced worldwide, places they administer such as El Museo de la Isla, Parador Turístico San Gervasio, the Parque Natural Chankanaab and the Parque Ecoturístico Punta Sur, will have their operations suspended for approximately one month.
Emilio Villanueva Sosa, general director of the FPMC says the suspension is part of prevention actions being carried out throughout the country. He explained that this measure was taken in order to safeguard the integrity, health, and safety of collaborators and visitors, as well as in response to the call of the World Health Organization and state health authorities to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
“We are sure that together we will succeed because we are a community that knows how to face difficult moments. We will reinvent ourselves so that as soon as the situation is controlled we will be ready with new energy to show visitors from all over the world our natural beauties and warmth by the people of Cozumel,” he added.
