Chetumal, Q.R. — A former Servicios Estatales de Salud (Sesa) worker identified as Carlos M has been formally charged with transporting narcotics. The Public Ministry of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) in Quintana Roo formally charged the temporary worker on Thursday.
Carlos M, who was hired as a temporary driver for the Secretary of Health government department, was on the job for approximately three months when he was pulled over last week by elements of the army.
The Sesa government truck Carlos M was driving was found transporting 197.3 kilos of marijuana in 20 cardboard barrels. The barrels were located covered in the bed of the federal government agency’s pickup truck while he was traveling a section of Villahermosa-Chetumal highway.
On July 17, Carlos M was arrested and the truck seized. Both were returned to Chetumal where he was processed and incarcerated.
