On Tuesday, Godoy Ramos released an official statement saying “I am informing the people of Mexico about the actions of the Attorney General’s Office in the case of Inés “N”, detained on October 30 in the state of Florida by immigration authorities of the United States of America.

“Inés “N” has three outstanding arrest warrants, all issued by federal judges

“One was requested by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime, for her probable participation in the crimes of organized crime and operations with resources of illicit origin, while two more were requested by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Competency Control, for equivalent tax fraud.”

She went on to explain that “according to the investigations, Inés “N” allegedly received illicit funds in her personal bank accounts, obtained through a scheme of diversion and triangulation of public resources from the Decentralized Administrative Body for Prevention and Social Rehabilitation, through shell companies.

“She also allegedly declared lower income than he actually earned in the 2014 and 2016 tax years, thus omitting the payment of more than 13 million pesos in taxes.

“These are serious offenses. The scheme under investigation revolved around contracts worth approximately 2.45 billion pesos with the agency responsible for federal prisons, funds earmarked for the security of the country’s prison system,” she said.

She went on to explain that “shell companies simulate operations to divert public funds and conceal their destination, while money laundering seeks to guarantee illegal private profits at the expense of public budgets.

“Every peso diverted or not contributed is a peso that stops reaching the programs and actions that benefit millions of people. Since Inés “N” fled the country, the Prosecutor’s Office has taken action to bring her to justice.

“In September 2025, we requested his provisional arrest from the United States for extradition purposes, and in coordination with the Department of Justice, we prepared the corresponding formal request. In recent weeks, in collaboration with U.S. authorities, we have exchanged information and the outstanding arrest warrants were delivered.

“Her detention is currently due to his immigration status, the resolution of which is the responsibility of the United States authorities. If her deportation is determined, the Prosecutor’s Office will immediately execute the arrest warrants upon his arrival in Mexico.

“Inés “N” enjoys the presumption of innocence. It will be the Mexican courts, in accordance with the law and with respect for due process, that determine her responsibility. It is the responsibility of this Prosecutor’s Office to ensure that she appears before them.

“Where there is impunity, there will be investigation. Where there is crime, there will be consequences.”
