Akumal, Q.R. — Five people were injured when the van they were traveling in overturned outside Akumal. The highway accident was reported to police Monday afternoon.
Several ambulances were part of the response team after learning of the highway accident. A total of five from inside the transport unit were treated on scene before being transferred to hospital.
The driver of the van was heading toward Playa del Carmen at the time of the accident. Responding Transit Police did not provide a reason for the van overturning.
