Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — In response to the request for more and better services, traffic lights were installed in central Puerto Aventuras. The project to install the sets of lights began in late April.
Last week, Municipal Mayor Lili Campos inaugurated the town’s first sets of operating traffic lights. The lights have been installed at the intersections of the Calzada de Puerto Maya with the Balance axis.
The mayor says it is part of the renovation that is being carried out in Solidaridad, specifically in the urban mobility of Puerto Aventuras, since pedestrian crossings are also being built and busy roads repaved.
The purpose, she said, is to give pedestrians greater safety and expedite vehicular traffic and reduce accidents in the growing town of more than 24,000. Campos says Puerto Aventuras is growing in full urban development and requires more services.
“Regarding citizen security, Puerto Aventuras will have their own patrols, they will not move from Playa del Carmen,” she said.
Puerto Aventuras Mayor Gilberto Gómez thanked Campos for her support since Puerto Aventuras continues to advance in its growth and development “and with increasing autonomy, providing its inhabitants with greater security and quality of life,” he concluded.
