Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Firemen were quick to extinguish a roadside blaze Monday in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Fire fighting authorities were sent after a motorist report the highway fire to the municipal C2 centre.
The brush fire was noticed around 12:40 p.m. Monday. Members of the Felipe Carrillo Puerto Fire Department were mobilized immediately due to the dry conditions and strong winds.
Tanker 1406 arrived with three men on board who were able to control the fire before it spread even more. According to their preliminary report, an area of approximately 20 meters long by 10 meters wide had completely burned before flames were considered out.
